How to choose a pet insurance plan that suits your pet and your wallet

Now that you have a good idea of what our Pet Classic Plan includes, then you will probably already know if this is the right plan for you.

Picking the right pet medical insurance isn’t easy.

There’s a lot to consider. But, with Oneplan, we believe in making your life simpler and giving you options. Which is why we have FOUR different pet plans for you to choose from.

This means that you have the choice to find a plan that suits the healthcare needs of your pet and your budget.

Here are some of our top tips:

  1. Do not pick a plan based on price alone - cheaper is NEVER better
  2. Choose a pet insurer you feel you can trust
  3. Research the insurer online and check out what their customer feedback is like
  4. Make sure you read the fine print of your contract
  5. Know exactly what you are covered for and what you are not
  6. Think about the breed of your pet - some breeds have higher health risks than others
  7. Find out if you can keep your vet - with Oneplan, we let you go to any vet of your choice

Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan if I want to?

Of course, you can! All you have to do is give us one calendar month’s notice.

You can only change your plan every 6 months and waiting periods will apply for new cover benefits.

When should I insure my pet?

The sooner you insure your pet, the better. The older your pet gets, the more health risks she will develop.

Issues such as cancer are known to affect older dogs, and if your dog is diagnosed with a serious condition, then you may have to wait out a certain period of time before you can claim for medical bills relating to this.

How does claiming work?

At Oneplan, for routine care and vet visits, we pay you BEFORE you see the vet. How we do this is through our pawesome Onecard which is sent to you when you become a client of Oneplan.

All you have to do is login to the Oneplan App, load your claim and the funds are transferred to your Onecard within seconds.

You then swipe this card at your vet’s rooms.

Yours in cuddle-worthy pet insurance,

Oneplan
