From R190 a month.

What medical costs am I covered for?

Accident cover – Up to R38 000

An accident is something you didn’t see coming. This might be a car accident (when your pet is hit by a car) or if your pet falls from a height.

Accidents do not include issues that have developed over time such as bone issues or sores on your pet’s body.

Your pet is covered for:

  • Burns or electrocution
  • Car accidents
  • Falls from a height
  • Actions of another animal
  • Poisoning
  • Near drowning
  • Embedded foreign bodies (if Spike swallows a rock)
  • Trauma that results in fractured bones, lacerations, abrasions, punctures or wounds, gastric torsion (twisting of the stomach)
  • Burial/cremation/euthanasia cover included for up to R1500

Your pet is NOT covered for:

  • Ligament injuries because of a degenerative (gets worse over time) disorder and/or congenital (born with this condition) or hereditary (inherited from parents) conditions — please note that even if you did not know your pet had one of these conditions, they will still not be covered under accident cover.

Illness cover – Up to R38 000

An illness is an issue (disease or sickness) that started after your cover began.

Your pet is covered for:

  • Treatment that needs an overnight stay or surgery (this overnight stay needs to be suggested by your vet and not something you think is a good idea)
  • Burial/cremation/euthanasia cover included for up to R1500

Your pet is NOT covered for:

  • Dentistry or teeth related treatment/procedures
  • Conditions that result from not vaccinating your pet (vaccination is so important)
  • Pregnancy and related conditions (sterilisation is as important as vaccination)

You are covered for up to R180 a day and R1800 per annum.

Is this the right plan for me?

At Oneplan, you have a choice between 5 different pawesome plans for you and your pets. Each of our plans was designed with you and your pet in mind, ensuring that you are covered for the things that matter most.

If you are wondering whether or not our Pet Hospital Plan is right for you, we have put together some questions that might help you answer this:

Do you need cover for accidents and illnesses only?

If yes, then you are on the right track with our Pet Hospital Plan!

Do you visit your vet on a regular basis?

If this is the case, then you might want to bump up to a more comprehensive plan that includes routine care and vet visits.

What breed of cat or dog do you have?

It might help to do some research on your pet’s breed as some breeds are more prone to illnesses and conditions compared to others.

For example, pugs and other breeds with short snouts often develop breathing problems and other issues such as bone and joint conditions. If you have this breed of dog, then you might want to look into a plan with more cover options and benefits.

Are you looking for cover for emergencies only?

If you are someone who just wants pet insurance for emergencies only, then our Pet Hospital Plan is the right choice for you!

Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan if I want to?

Of course! You just need to give us one calendar month’s notice. You can only change your plan every 6 months and waiting periods will apply for new cover benefits.

When should I insure my pet?

Remember, the sooner you get your pet insured, the better. Older pets are more prone to developing chronic conditions and illnesses such as cancer. If your pet has a pre-existing condition like this, then a waiting period of 12 months will apply. This means that any claims related to this condition will not be covered for this time.
