In a nutshell, the whole point of having insurance comes down to the moment you need to claim. So, if that’s the whole point, why do so many insurers make that the most complicated part? We’re here to answer the question, “How do car insurance claims work with Oneplan?”

So how do car insurance claims work with Oneplan?
- Log in to the Oneplan App with your policy number and password (if you’re logging in for your mother, take ten deep breaths before reminding her you aren’t her magical password keeper).
- Check out our menu icons and select “Car and Household”.
- Select the “My Claims” icon and next select the “New Claim” icon.
- Now you’re going to select which vehicle you want to claim for (should you have more than one vehicle policy with us) and the kind of incident you want to claim for.
- Complete the required incident information and then click “Upload Images” for “Motor Accident”.
- Once complete, select “Process Claim”.
Upload your images for “Motor Accident”
A quick interlude: the pictures you upload are important. You can only upload them once, so make sure you are sending pictures that are clear and focused and taken from all angles (of the car, not you). Remember that taking pictures at the accident scene will get you a waiver on your R2500 standard excess fee – score!

Easy to claim, easy to pay
One thing about Oneplan is that we are set on being an insurance company known for flexibility and adaptability when it comes to individual clients. That’s why we have a sliding scale system. Ranging from 30% to 95% coverage, we will calculate the cover value of your vehicle based on the percentage YOU have chosen.
Some things to keep in mind
With our insurance being as simple as it is – we want you to be prepared with the right documents as soon as possible before you claim. In the event of a car accident or theft, you need to make your way to a police station as soon as possible.
Car accidents need to be reported within the first 24 hours – anything longer and the report is in violation of the National Road Traffic Laws and could make your claim invalid, which obviously isn’t ideal.

If there has been a third party involved – anybody that isn’t us or you – it is especially important that you make contact with the police and us as soon as you can. Obviously, in the event of serious injury, this won’t be possible and that will be taken into account.
Leaving the police report too late could result in your claim being rejected and that’s never fun for anybody involved. Fleeing the scene is not advised, either.
We created Oneplan App to make your insurance experience as seamless as possible. We know that life comes at you fast sometimes and we want to get you back on your feet and dusted off as soon as possible.
