What is a Pet Hospital Plan?
If you aren’t already a part of the Oneplan Family, we should start off by making sure everybody is on the same page. Our Pet Hospital Plan is unique to Oneplan and aims to make sure that no matter your budget, your Whiskers has access to effective medical care when she needs it. This policy is a good balance between our Accident Plan and the next step up, our Primary, Classic or Super Plan. We developed our Pet Hospital Plan to help ease the burden of costs accumulated through unforeseen hospital admissions. Whether your pet has been admitted into the hospital for an accident or injury, Oneplan will have you covered.
We also provide cover for kennel and boarding fees should you be in a situation where your pet can’t be with you (talk about well thought out insurance). We also want to be by your side should the worst happen which is why this plan covers cremation and burial of your beloved pet in the event of a fatal accident.
What are you paying?
- Dog – R190 per month
- Cat – R190 per month
What are you getting?
- Illness Cover: Up to R38,000 (per event)
- Accident Cover: Up to R38,000 (per event)
- Kennel Fees (Due to owner experiencing unexpected health event only) – up to R180 per day and up to R1,800 per annum
- The maximum overall annual limit for cover – up to R48,500
What can you add?

- Add-on Excess Buster to Waiver Excesses – per pet: R30 pm
- Add-on Pet Med Booster – per pet: R35 pm (You’ll get Pay Zero Excess & Add R350 Pet Med Savings (Routine Care) per annum – 30 day waiting period for Pet Med Savings)
How to Claim for your Pet Hospital Cover

We try to do everything from our side as quickly as possible, but we need a few things from you first! Follow these three simple steps every time you claim and you’ll be good to go!
- To claim you must submit a fully completed claim form and attach a copy of the detailed account, medical evidence and/or any other information as we may reasonably request.
- Submit the information to petclaims@oneplan.co.za for assessment and processing.
- We may request a full twenty-four-month medical history for your pet to process your claim.
