Now that’s something to wag your tail about! At Oneplan we created pet insurance that’s not only affordable but cuddle-worthy too! Find out more about our annual limits in this blog post.
A number of pet owners are under the impression that pet insurance just doesn’t make financial sense. They think that the cost of a monthly premium is a waste of money.
But what happens when your pet is involved in an accident and surgery costs R30 000 or more? What happens if your vet had to diagnose your dog with a chronic illness that will cost a monthly fee for ongoing treatment? What happens when your vet bills exceed what your finances allow? Do you opt for euthanasia due to financial constraints?
All of these scenarios sound like terrible situations to be in, and the scary reality of it is that so many pet owners often find themselves in these exact circumstances.
The trick is not to wait until it is too late to insure the health of your pet. The costs of expected expenses for checkups and vet visits as well as the costs of emergency pet care can all be covered thanks to pet insurance.
Have a look at this article on the price of not having pet insurance.
Pet insurance saves you money
It starts to become clear as to how pet insurance makes financial sense. For example, our Pet Accident Plan which only costs R55 a month has an annual limit of R8000 for accidents.
This means that for a total of R660 a year in premiums, you receive R8000 in accident cover.
The thing is, pet insurance was designed to save you from both the expected costs of routine care (as seen in our more comprehensive pet plans) and the unexpected costs of emergency care.
Every pet insurer is different
Keep in mind that every pet insurance company is different. Each one offers different plans, premiums and benefits.
Which is why it’s important that you know exactly what you are getting into before you sign on the dotted line. It’s vital that you know exactly what you are covered for and what you are not. Nobody wants to be put in the position of a claim being rejected because you were under the impression your insurer covered this specific event.
When you start to do some research you will also find that all insurers have different coverage limits.
What’s a limit?
A limit is the max amount your insurer will pay in the event of a claim.
Each benefit is outlined in your policy has a limit. For example, routine care has its own limit and accident cover has its own limit. Why is why it’s important that you read the fine print.
Don’t worry though, we make sure our legal lingo is easy to understand and if you have any questions, you can chat with one of our team members through the Oneplan App.
What’s an overall annual limit?
This is the maximum amount we will pay for ALL your claims during the year. This includes health cover (vet visits and routine care) and hospital risk cover (accidents and illnesses).
We have one of the highest annual cover limits
When you do a little research into what other pet insurers are offering, you will find that our pet healthcare plans offer one of the highest annual benefits.
This means that the max overall annual limit for your pet healthcare claims is one of the highest compared to other pet insurers.
